Also known as lipolysis or mesotherapy, is a procedure that reduces fat with the use of a prescription drug: This treatment removes fat cells from areas fat is present, breaks down fat, and helps with the digestion and removal of destroyed fat. Due to these specific actions fat loss experienced is technically permanent unless weight is regained, which can affect your results.

Marketed as a non-invasive alternative to liposuction, it is meant to treat areas with a small amount of fat, such as a double chin, midsection/ tummy, love handles, and inner thighs. These microinjections are not intended for skin tightening and does not address skin laxity that may occur as a result.

Fluid retention and bruising in the treated area are common side effects of treatment, and initial swelling can last up to 10 days, with full results seen around 6-8 weeks after treatment.

Subsequent sessions may be required, although the number of treatments varies according to the areas of fat being treated.

Avoid treatment if:
